What Is the EVO Visian ICL™?
The EVO Visian ICL™ (Implantable Collamer Lens) is a flexible, biocompatible lens placed inside the eye to correct nearsightedness and astigmatism. Unlike LASIK or PRK, which remove corneal tissue, this lens is implanted behind the iris and in front of the natural lens. It works with the eye’s natural structure to bend light correctly onto the retina, resulting in clear vision at all distances.
The lens remains in place permanently but can be removed or replaced if vision needs change in the future. Because no tissue is removed, the EVO Visian ICL™ is an excellent choice for patients who have thin corneas or dry eyes and have been told they are not good LASIK candidates.
